The M-ATV is a modern era armored personnel carrier of US origin. In the US MRAP All Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) program five contenders took part and the Oshkosh vehicle was selected in 2009. The M-ATV program was to result in a vehicle that would be as well protected as previous MRAP vehicles but with a lower weight and much better mobility.
